| Trying to decide which way to go. The Ruger is cheaper but only a 20 inch barrel for 308. The seekins has a 24 inch barrel, which I like. But more expensive. Have owned a RPR in 338 awhile back and consider it the best bolt action I have ever owned. Would hope if I go RPR it will be as good. The seekins has a twist of 1:11.25. All my bolt rifles all had 1:10 so not sure how good the twist on the seekins will benefit me. My current savage 10 FCP is a laser shooting 200 gr ELD-X pills. Not sure how the twist on the seekins will affect my load for the savage. Have considered a 300 PRC in the RPR as the cost is close in price to the seekins but not sure I want to reload another caliber. Anyone with a seekins HIT tell me if it’s worth the cost? Appreciate any comments. |

The HIT is worth every penny. Get the HIT PRO and you'll never look back. Toolless bolt, quick change barrel system, changeable bolt face, integrated 20 moa rail, and recoil lug etc etc. The Seekins is miles better than a RPR. If you have a Scheels close to you, go check one out. I have a friend that bought a RPR sent it back twice and finally had a local smith put a new barrel on it. He's easily more into it than a HIT by now. |

The trigger and the arca rail are about the only differences that i know of. A friend of mine has one of the first run with a 308 and 6.5cm barrel. I watched him shoot a nickle sized 5 shot with the 308, then he switched it out to the 6.5cm in about 5 minutes then another 5 shot sub minute group with that barrel. He swapped the 308 back onto the action and proceeded to drive tacks right back on the first group. Truly impressive. |
