I know this topic comes up every so often, but a search isn't bringing up the answers.

What happens to form 4's pending when the SOT (a sole proprietor and operator, whose death has closed the doors pending probate) passes away unexpectedly?

There is another well known local SOT who is willing to assume the responsibilities of completing the transfers, and purchase the unsold NFA inventory.

Can ATF approve a form 5 transfer of all NFA items in the dealer's safe, regardless of their status, to the new SOT, or is more than that involved?

Thanks

ATF will work with the executor of the estate. I knew someone working with the estate of a sot that died. The atf got another SOT in the area to assist in getting the stuff transferred.

ATF will take care of you pretty well.  It's not the first or last time this has happened.

Thanks again.

Extremely nice guy, no will, no other named persons on the FFL or business, no contingency plans; difficult for all involved.
