So I am super stoked, I bought a SCAR-17s off the EE and the seller was LOCAL!

FANTASTICO!

I link up with the local guy, exchange funds and the evening is upon us so there is no real inspection.  I did check the serial and insure it wasn't on the recall.  SN HC57xxx  7 lugged bolt - GREAT!

But...

Now its got me thinking, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ______  SCREW/PART BREAKS?

Its not like getting an AR spare part, thats for sure, or an AK or even an FAL.

Are there REALLY only TWO   THREE   places to get parts?  Midwest Gun Works, STRYKER Enterprises & Hi Desert Dog?

Is there a GENOfromRENO (KAC stash guy) who squirrels away hard to find FNH SCAR-17s parts?

I have 'heard' FNH customer service is a bear to deal with: "Send in the complete firearm..."

What say those more knowledgeable than me?  Parts, never need just be CAREFUL or buy spares and hoard them?

Will

This is what I bought back in 2016 after getting my 17.
Return Spring
Firing Pin
Ejector
Guide Rod Retaining Plate
Extractor

All from MGW.  I have not replaced any parts as of yet.  I bought some other parts but I can't find the invoice.  Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

not glamorous but Barrel Extention Screw

heard of horror stories of users breaking these.
if you change your barrel or forward rail, this could happen to you.
I had no problems, but bought spares just in case,....

Not glamorous but fitting.

I noticed the rifle I just got had a boogered up barrel extension screw!  Luckily I had a spare and bought a couple more to keep on hand!

It's been 3 years or so. But they were great for parts for my FS2000s.

I ordered a couple of the barrel extension screws and their angled charging handle a couple weeks back.

After a week or so they cancelled the order on the barrel screws and shipped the charging handle and I got rang up for $15 S&H for that charging handle!

At least its better than others' experiences!
