For those into spare parts for the SCAR 17S I have casually been looking out for a spare bolt carrier. Usually miss the back in stock notifications on them but finally had some luck, these are the non-full auto versions. There are still (3) as of this post available for anyone looking.... https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/3184110030

ETA: Sold Out

Spare bolt carrier? That thing could be used as a hammer to assemble AKs with. Any reports of actual failures in the field?

They can and do break sometimes when running with a suppressor.

Happened to mine.

You can change the gas jet under the regulator to tune it for your ammo. A set of jets and a 4x1mm screwdriver is way cheaper than a bolt carrier.

Brutal, what suppressor/bullet? I’m way too scared to put my big SRD762Ti on there.

Late to the discussion and yes they are expensive. Do like having spare parts and never know with FN as far as availability or future production plans. Also as mentioned because I have a 100% suppressed setup so I want a spare for that.

I use a 1.35 mm gas screw to taper the gas on a 13” setup using 168 GMM and Barnes 130gr TTSX

It IS a hammer and known hard on optics and mounting systems in stock configuration.
Running a can on the SCAR does not slow down the carrier velocity and swapping any parts voids the warranty.

When you start swapping parts you are now the designer & engineer.

So out of the box is a hammer on the optics, but don't touch anything or warranty support voided. Nice little scam they've got going here lol. SCAM 17S

FN caters to LE and military sales.
