I saw a website that at one point sold used pushers for chalk rounds. Do any of ya'll use used pushers? Is there chances of them scratching or damaging the barrel? Also, are zinc pushers hard or soft metal? Can they cause sparks if hit by bullets once they are down range? |

I give them a good brushing and don't worry too much about it. cleaner is probably better- I have a bunch of them and was going to run them in my rotary tumbler and see how that does- but I don't clean off the RTV if any- I let that roll and use an arbor press to slowly press them into a new case. Yep- That was me. I can't wait to go next year. Already planning to donate a bigger prize for the 40mm shoot :) |

I have been reusing them. Brush the dirt off, remove any remaining nose cone (I need to use less superglue), and reload. If there is RTV remaining, I just reuse it rather than stripping and adding new. I have also started painting them florescent pink. My range is a large hill with some trees and lots of leaves. Painting them makes it easier to spot them. |
| I just use a soft wire brush. I used to clean them real well with a softer wire wheel on a bench grinder. But it's just not worth it when doing hundreds of them. I just focus on the drive bands as thats what makes contact with the barrel, and that is only if I visibly see dirt |

Thanks all ya'll for the replies. I'll try and shoot my zinc pushers where I have chance of retrieving them. If they get nicked by rocks and such, will the need to not be used again? I want to make sure i don't scratch up the bore/barrel of the 40mm. Before my son's 3D printer went down I started some trial prints of the Loose Change design. You've helped me via email with getting them straight. I'm learning how to work his printer and right when I think I have everything calibrated, it malfunction. Flsun. |
| They can skip off and travel a ways. Sometimes you can tell general direction by a trail of chalk, but the pushers have a habit of disappearing. Especially if you are by yourself and are trying to estimate where you saw one bounce to, and are searching downrange where everything looks different. |

@SGT-Fish Thanks for the case. I'm putting them to good use. Attached File |
