I have a new Mini 14 tactical in stainless and I want to replace the muzzle device. Easy peasy or will it require the application of fire / heat?

Try it first with no heat. Next step is heat

My stainless came right off with little effort but the blue one I had required heat to loosen what looked like some kind of "Locktite" The blue one got an A2 flashider and the stainless got a ASR 556 closed flashider.

Not sure if it's the same type of setup but I just replaced the compensator on my Ruger American. Wrench on the lock nut and a large screw driver through the factory compensator. Laid the rifle down on a carpet. A couple of light hammer hits on the screwdriver and it broke free, no heating required.

Jumping in on an old thread here..

Does anyone have their factory stainless flashhder that they want to get rid of? Or know where to find one?
