Makes me sick. I found this knife that was my dad's in a tool box that had been outside and leaked. I have a local guy that can do the stacked leather washers. This pic is after I let it sit in some rust remover. Knife dude didn't sound like he could restore the blade very much / (didn't want to spend the time). So i am going to spend all the time I need sanding it down to 1500 or 2000 grit and buffing. Then have him restore the handle. I will try to document my restoration here.

I have undertaken much harder projects than that.  I'm looking forward to how OP does the job.

So stoked I saved my dad's knife from the scrap pile. A little research says Remington produced these between 1920 and 1930. I got the blade cleaned up and polished all the way to 3000 grit. And it is scary sharp! Kudos to Tim Holt doing a great job restoring the stacked leather grip. Now I just need to get a sheath

Great job!  Yeah it definitely deserves a great sheath too.  That is quite the cool heirloom you have there now and another story to tell about it.

Adventure Sworn knives have really nice sheaths, I can't remember who makes them but its someone in the Pacific Northwest I think.  It deserves to be treated to something like that I think.
