Would it be feasible to nitrocarb a chrome lined barrel that needed an exterior refinish?  Or would the process damage the lining?

I know cerakote would be safe bet as well as park/phosphate but was thinking about something a little tougher.

I do Cerakote and am a big fan, but I have to say, the durability of Norell's Moly Resin and KG Gunkote is impressive. They are much thicker coatings than Cerakote, but shouldn't cause tolerance issues getting your gas block on.
