I have one of the older 4-moa Trophy red-dots (pulled off of trade fodder gun) with the 30mm tube and was wondering if it or any regular RDs would hold-up on a Springer air rifle?

I already know that you have to use a springer air-rifle rated scope (I use Hammer brand scopes) but I've never read anything about how regular red-dots hold up with a springer.

I already use a RD on a couple of pneumatic guns but I know that's a whole different animal than a springer's recoil.

I have a RWS Diana 34 I'd like to try it out on but wanted to ask before I tear up perfectly good red-dot.

Not sure about some red dots, but I bet an RMR type wouldn’t be affected by recoil.

Heck they deal with the jarring motion of being on a pistol slide, I doubt air gun recoil would hurt them.

This question has come up before, and while I don't know about most CHICOM red dots, AIMPOINT states on their website "Only products currently manufactured and older 7000 series Aimpoint sights should be mounted on this type of airgun. Older products should not be used".
