I bought a 77/44 for deer hunting, mostly for my kids. Recoil is kind of subjective and everyone is different, but I was surprised by how much it kicks with full power 240gr loads. The gun very light and the recoil pad sucks (replaced it with a Limbsaver). My 9 year old would definitely not like it with full power loads. I also reload so I loaded up some 200 gr XTP's with a lighter charge and it was noticeably better. My Silencerco Hybrid finally cleared and it reduces recoil even more.
Accuracy is so-so, about 3"-4" 5 shot groups at 100. Since the accuracy sort of limits the range I'm not sure the extra power of the .44 is an advantage over the 357. I wanted a .44 so I could shoot 300gr subsonics, but if it wasn't for that I think maybe the .357 would have been a better idea for the kids?
