I think you'll end up with some kind of odd brown color.
Just go for it and see what happens.

Rit will dye magpul FDE black? I’d like to match my grip, front flip-up/ sight, and CTR stock to the rest of my rifle, since I stripped off the 87 peeling layers of paint over the weekend. I’d rather not paint the parts.

Yup, cheap & easy too. I buy lots of parts in pink because they are dirt cheap and then I dye them black for pennies.

Tan dye turned the pink to purple so I added black and it's black now. Oh well
