What's the standard height above rail for clip-on NV and Thermal? 1.54"? We are looking at making a purchase in the somewhat near future but I have no idea which units will be approved.

I'm setting up a precision rifle in a KRG X-Ray chassis and it looks like their forward mount NV rail (INVR) is about the same height as the rail on the receiver/action. If I already have a Vortex Razor 4-27x56 mounted in a Reptilia 1.54" mount, I should be good to go right?

Just trying to avoid wasting money on additional rings once we actually get issued the clip-on optics.

Yes, 1.5" is standard for pretty much every clip on except the UTC line of optics. I have a night vision rail on my KRG Bravo and it lines up nicely with my 1.5" mount.

Getting into the weeds a bit, some clip ons handle cant offset better than others. For example, my Terminus Zeus receiver has a 20MOA rail machined into the receiver so I put a 20MOA mount on backwards so the net elevation is 0MOA, ensuring my optics are as aligned as they can be. Some say the cant offset doesn't matter (and for many optics, it probably doesn't)

Thanks for the insight!

I do have a 20moa scope base. Hopefully that won't be too much of a difference.

1.54 is good to go for most.  What clip-on are you looking at purchase?

I'm not in charge of the purchasing so I have no idea. Typically it's going to be whatever the most popular issue milspec thing is.

ADM 1.54 optic mount, and the ADM mount for the Super Yoter-C are a perfect match. Stock SYC mount was a little higher, but easily adjusted out with the menu.
