What kind of bag is that on the platecarrier?  Right now I'm simply using a regular backpack style small assault pack and putting it on over my plate carrier.  Not a huge deal but I've thought of integrating the pack into the plate carrier to cut down on the number of things going over my shoulders.

Also I think I'm going to have to give that Multicam Tropic a try around here looks like it may blend in really well in East Texas.  Oldschool M81 Woodland works great in this area same for ATACS-FG.

It’s my design, I do a small (very small) amount of Prototyping as a hobby business. It gives me access to equipment, suppliers, and some inside stuff to mess around with sometimes.

It’s a combination of a sort of fight light type pack and map pack. It is the same shape size as the front plate side pouch on the plate carrier. It’s designes to attach to the plate carrier or run shoulder straps. I designed it to have the straps of the pack run through the plate carrier pads and down to the bottom of the pack. It’s a little cumbersome to get on like that but I’ve alawys had a problem with putting too much in the pack and it pulls on the front plate and up into my chin. This way it’s like wearing a pack where it doesn’t pull on the plate rig but acts and feels like a intergrated plate carrier pack. Working on better suspension and rigging to make it even more intergrated and be easier to put on and take off.

Yeah tropic is actually great for woodland environments. I never realized until I started messing with tropic. Picture below shows standard woodland next to tropic. It has all the benefits of multicam and the color blend of woodland.

That's a nice assault pack, Great308.  I dig the Tropic, it reminds me of the Delta variant ERDL.   But I think you need darker thread, either Camo Green 483 or Ranger Green, may OD7.

The harness is from a Tactical Tailor Rogue chest rig attached using extra ITW buckles. The buckles use the center molle strap. Below the chest rig is a picture of an unmodded SDS mag shingle:

Yeah it’s all prototype stuff and been trying out different options. That’s olive drab thread. Ranger green is still too bright of a contrast. I have some camo green thread I was going to try but it’s a 69 thread and I prefer 92 for gear. I think camo green would still be a different contrast. Tropic is one of those colors that seems to be somewhat difficult to match with stuff that is not tropic.

Ah you chopped the buttons off to thread through the buckles to mount it- did you just have the spare harness handy? I'm curious because I'm confident I have nearly the same woodland pouches in the bottom of one of my duffels.

You can use any harness really as long as they interface with 1” buckles. You can also roll your own X harness using 1” webbing.

My  blow out kit in the 80's was a compression bandage with the wrapper being the chest seal.

Man, that pre GWOT first aid was pretty much "101 ways to use a cravat"... to think a bandage plus rib some dirt on it was as good as got.

The pouch forward of the holster is the first-aid pouch, intended to hold the standard first-aid dressing packet: the "Carlisle bandage" which originally came in a little sealed tin and later in a slightly larger foil-reinforced paper/cardboard packet, which necessitated a slightly larger pouch. If memory serves, the two versions are generally the M1924 and M1942, if you're talking WW2 and Korea era. The '24 is basically a cosmetic update of the M1910 from WW1, though.
The pouch abaft the pistol mags is a compass pouch.

Yeah I wish more was made in Tropic too, and Arid. There are manufactures making stuff in all the flavors of multicam including tropic but its far and few and some of it is expensive because not many are making it. That was my dilemma with the standard multicam during its release in early 2000. It was such a cool pattern but being new and not used by anyone it was an expensive pattern to get anything in. I guess thats the case with any pattern that is not used by any major company, unit, department, branch.

I am planning to do some cool stuff in MC Alpine soon. Being that we have harsh winters here, no one really makes much of anything in it, and its a pretty darn cool camo like MC black is to me.

Keeps them lumped together instead of having individual lights flipping and flopping all around. That's my guess and why I use a rubber-band on mine when I carry a few.

Yep...grew up between Pocatello and Fort Hall here, which is why I thought the tropics getup was funny.  I guess it might be good for Cherry Springs...

Not dumb at all. Taping them reduces their brightness.

We use them for marking rooms, and you don't need the full brightness for that.
