410 gauge/bore are the exact same thing. He good to go with either label.

"410 gauge" is really a misnomer but it is used and accepted to describe .410 bore shotguns.

No such thing as a 410 gauge.
A .410 bore is roughly a 67 gauge. People that don't know what gauge means call .410 bore shotguns a 410 gauge. |

just a refresher course... gauge refers to the number of lead balls of barrel bore diameter that weigh a pound, eg since a 12 gauge is larger diameter it takes 12 balls for a pound, a 20 gauge with smaller diameter takes 20
bore is in inches... 410 bore is .410" |

Probably can’t find any right now but there’s defensive 410 rounds that work well. Shockwaves are pretty popular right now.

I can't even find 410 birdshot or target loads locally - Multiple Walmart's, Academy, dozens of shops - ammo all gone. Initially 12 and 20 gauge was still on shelves - then went dry and not restocked . Seems like it has been dry for a while now. I suspect 410 ammo not being as popular as other is close to last for priorities. My stash is hitting a point where I will soon be on hold for more recreational shooting |
