here is my first try, i am SUPER happy with the outcome, looks great in person, so far everyone who sees it is like WOW who did that for you! I used krylon camo series. It looks WAY better in natural light, when i get home today ima try to get some pics outside...did not have time last night, everything was done except the foregrip, it can in but by the time i got it painted and put on it was too dark for outside pics... the paint seems like its gonna hold up great!!! the only place it got dicked up at all was on the front sight and it was because im not patient and put it on the gun only 10 minutes after painting it...i figured its gonna get beat up anyway, and i wanted to see it all together! I decided to give it a try myself. I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

This was a BRAND NEW Remington 870 supermag. It almost pained me to strip off the new unfired stocks and lay the Krylon to them, but over all I like it. It will be used mainly for duck hunting so I stayed away from the brown and just used the Khaki and Olive with the straw from dissassembled broom.
Next up is my AR - .22LR its a spikes dedicated upper and a doublestar lower and LPK. I painted a MOE handguard, A2 stock, grip, and a mag with the same colors as above. I tired using some of the brown but it just looked too dark.

Here's my submission.
Sterilized and on the operating table for a makeover. 
Tack coat of Krylon khaki, then a second "full wet" coat and allowed to dry. 
I used a whisk broom for my "straw" and found that pretty handy after I thinned it out a bit. OD green applied. 
Then the brown 
and finally black 
I wanted it more "greenish" than tanish, so I went back over it freelance with the OD green until I was satisfied. 
I was hesitant to paint a new gun but what the heck, it's not a Parker..

Here is mine. It needs one more shade of tan for the local straw in the plains, but it's a good start.
I shot these at 50mm, which is supposed to be the closest to the human field of view. 40 feet 
20 feet 
10 feet 
5 feet 
This weekend I'll go out to get some field shots. |

Well, I finally took the plunge & rattle canned' my 870 - just in time for Turkey season...
I used Rust-oleum Camouflage paints - Khaki for the basecoat, then Deep Forest Green & Earth Brown (& a light dusting of flat black Krylon) with the pine straw. Areas that came out too solid dark got hit with pinestraw khaki highlights, then I used a Valspar flat clearcoat. My plain old 870 Express Magnum 
With the 20 inch Mossy Oak Breakup barrel that I got for 75 bucks on sale @ Remington's online store... 
Now to get to work...
