114 Year Old Colt New Service in .45 Colt that's been rode hard and put away wet. Paid $25 for it a few years back.
Can still hit plates at 30 yards one handed. 
Took the S&W 1917 to the range also. For a 100 year old revolver. It shots like it is brand new.

Two of my Afghan bring backs. One it just a wall hanger enfield muzzle loader and the other is a fully operational BSA Henry Martini. Not a bad deal for $250 U.S.

Cola-Warrior! Since it was the 100th anniversary of the US being in the Great War, and both M1917s were made in 1918. They needed to once again be fired in anger. The anger of the chug and penalties. |

Restained stock (dark walnut) but without sanding; just stained over (and you can tell, as that red glue is still down there as it should be - I just wanted a slightly darker brown as I have seen on some Mausers)
Then applied a couple of layers of TRU Oil. This stock was not in great condition. Despite probably not being very true to its original color (which I understand, was lighter initially) I like k98s on the darker side. I DO have a blonde stock as well - original to this rifle. But for now, I like the darker one better (shown blonde below current state)

I'm essentially speaking to myself in this thread but - what has inspired me, needs to go back to you all.
I swapped the original A3 stock (Remington FJA stamped) with this one, so that I can preserve that stock better when I go shooting. Also, this stock seems to be better for shooting the rifle thanks to the scant grip (which I prefer in looks to the 'C' style).

More of one of my 98Ks. I have fallen in love all over again with them, I think it's still my favorite rifle of all times.
Updating this one with proper stock, parts etc. and almost more importantly, I have been oiling wood parts with BLO, thouroughly. Helmet is also original German production M40 and reworked by the Finns (German sticker applied by me)

Just DROS'd this one, coming to me in 10 days. Carcano M91/38
The interesting thing about this one is that it's in 8mm Mauser (as I wanted) and that it has at least one Nazi Waffen marking. Could be fake (markings), there are several out there as such; or not. The action is incredibly smooth; have never seen a Carcano with such a smooth action actually. This one was made in Terni - while my grandfather was working there, as a master engineer at the Acciaierie di Terni (in the 1940s and following years). This one has something of me in it.

Goddamn, I fell in love with these WWII Carcanos. I think it is certainly due to the fact that - well - I am Italian; was born here but grew up there.
Also, I am immensely fascinated by WWII history. I got addicted. So, these were poor rifles, made with not much. But I am surprised nevertheless at the ingenuity, the ideas such as thinking of shorter rifles because long ones were outdated (hence, the Cavalry here, the TS and the M38 - all short rifles; this in itself was innovative). Seemingly the Italians were among the first to implement the concept of a short rifle as widely used by its military - though the Italians did not win anything. Few means, great creativity and fair workmanship. This is the same 8mm Mauser carbine I posted above but with a different stock (still for an 8mm conversion) that I like way more. ETA: backpack is also mine, I served with it in Shitaly (1991) for a whole year. It would seem that those backpacks were still made with the exact same pattern as the WWII ones. lol, Shitaly...
