This is great news to see more reputable companies producing these especially with Zenith's current state.  That being said, I wish they left the rail off.

If anything I would have at least centered the rail with the claw mounts. Move it more forward so the optic doesn't sit so far back which limits your optic choices. Oh and definitely offer a classic non railed version too.

Smart of them to go with a threaded 3-lug bbl. Also like that they kept the paddle mag release. If only my SP9k had come from the factory like that. I might have to get one to SBR, and leave my HK as it is.

I would have preferred a Navy style lower, and that handguard needs to go too. Agree with moving the optics rail forward.

Please encourage PTR to pull off the welded rail. It is the sole reason that I don’t own one.

Looks real good with that sig stock.

It looks like it gets the recoil more inline with shoulder, does it help manage full auto?

Agreed!  My MRO sits right above the ejection port.  I would hate for it be that far back.

So they put a decent lower on these and not the 9CT?

I think I want the welded rail to add a red dot.

Why the hate?  Just aesthetics?

I don't hate the rail but I'll never buy an HK clone with one. Aesthetics is most of it but I also like having options and aftermarket mounts provide that for me. A welded rail is probably much stronger than a claw mount but I'm just a range paper puncher who has never dropped a gun. *knocks on wood*

Can PTR please stop with the billboard?  It's bigger than the one on my 9CT.
Cold blue toned mine down, but it's still a bit much.

I did see in a SHOT video that this new lower will go out to the 9CT's also once they run out of the current CT lowers.

I ordered mine today from Tar River Arms in North Carolina.  He only had one in stock today, but said he just got word from PTR that two more are coming his way soon.  Mine should ship to me tomorrow!

I was on several wait lists and lucked upon this!  Serial number is in the mid 200's.

does anyone know of a 1913 backplate that will work on the PTR 9CT. I was about to buy a j mac custom 1913 adapter from AF, but realized its got 2 pins and the 9CT only have the single lower pin.

I wonder if the two holes in the pistol plate can get a bolt on one like the K, but already have the SB Tac brace so haven't looked.

I own an HK SP5K and love it.  Saw this PTR version at my local range/gun shop and asked to see it.  Looked and felt great.  The welds were very nice.  I was quiet impressed with the quality.

Assuming your SP5K actually runs, be happy you got that and not a PTR. I’ve got about 400 rounds through mine now and it won’t make it 10 rounds without a malfunction, usually less. Average is probably 4 to 5 malfunctions per magazine... really bummed out on this thing. I plan on getting in touch with PTR and seeing what they say but wish I would have spent the extra money and bought the SP5K (or a Zenith) from the beginning.

Here are some pics from my PTR-jamomatic:

Replace the extractor spring and see what happens

Once it has a double feed like that it really takes the tension out of the springs

Those look and sound exactly like what I experienced with my Omega with the MAD bolt. Looking for my first MP5 I was deciding between the PTR and the Omega and opted for the Omega because of the MAD bolt, but seems like those failures could've happened either way. Hope PTR takes care of it for you. Mine is on its way back to Omega for now.

Popped in a new HK extractor spring, used a new HK mag, even tried a new HK ejector... no love. Still average 3 to 5 FTEject per magazine, sometimes more (with both Speer Lawman and the Winchester nato stuff). Going back to PTR.

My full size was doing the same problems.  After many attempts to fix, I had it sent back to PTR.  Got it back and it seems to be working perfectly.  No problems.
