I have a LBT 6094 that I want to utilize the built in kangaroo pouch for storing three AR magazines. I also want to do this with an insert that provides good retention while allowing for easy, one handed magazine insertion.

I am thinking something like the S&S Precision plate with SMR magazine inserts:
https://www.sandsprecision.com/kangaroo-insert.html

Or the GMR kydex insert: http://gmrgear.squarespace.com/kydex/kangaroo-insert

My go to previously for magazine pouches was Esstac, but they don’t seem to make a kangaroo insert.

TYR tactical also previously made a popular option that appears to be discontinued.

Any options I’m missing?

I bought the GMR insert for my Crye JPC and it works awesome for retention and re-indexing.

A bonus is that it's close to a perfect fit in my Spiritus Microfight MK4.

I had a Shaw concept tripple insert in mine until I cut the kangaroo flap off. Held 3 mags pretty well and held its shape for re inserting mags.

I have teh S&S Precision kangaroo insert in a 6094A and it works great.

These options might work (the Ferro mentions the LBT specifically) but I have never tried:

just untie the bungees in the kangaroo pouch and put kywi inserts in it. Boom, just saved you like $75

I would check out and see if Unobtanium gear has any inserts that would work for you. I would also look at I think Wisemen Company's tegris insert.  Basically, the new hotness is Tegris in the tactical industry. It's a very light weight plastic that is crazy durable and fairly easy for gear manufacturers to work with.

I don’t currently have any insert in the kangaroo pouch. My original intent was to use a three wide KYWI on the front molle, but that plan changed.

Checked it out, and it seems to be OOS.

The Ferro looks great but is OOS. How does the Haley hold up shape without a magazine in it?

@bjonesgtaw

Was this on a 6904? What setup did you replace it with?

Yea. I cut my flap off on my lbt 6094. I made a shingle molle buckle adapter out of some 1 inch webbing and fastex buckles and replaced it with a krydex shingle that was cheap as hell and honestly is decent quality for the price. Put the shaw insert into that and gained a nice admin pouch that compresses quickly.

Truth be told axl makes a good adapter that I plan on switching to and being able to add shingles to the older 6094 brings an awesome plate carrier into the modern era.
