I  bought a USGI fiberglass stock and took my walnut stock off and put it away. I cleaned up the chocolate-colored stock and decided to paint it. The colors came out ok I think I should have added one more color but it was my first attempt with painting and stencils.

Nice! Freedom stencils? I used them when I did my usgi fiberglass stock.

I think you did a fine job.
I like the walnut a lot, though.  I have an ugly McMillan that I would like to "put away".

Yes Freedom stencils were used. I had a Marine Corps stencil I wanted to work in but forgot it.

Cool... I've decided I need to do my handguard.

For the handguard I just masked the whole reciever and barrel. I found it easier than removing it from the barrel. I need to work some brown in the colors. I will probally do it free hand with some testors model paint.
