Well it's not a given and folks need to read the fine print and it's better than getting stuck with a unit and one lost their hard earned money is a pretty sad state of affairs to say the least. That's pretty useful input not to have burned 2400 bucks above all else.
View Quote
To repeat myself - it's a good policy. I'm saying it's sad that it's not a given, since it really should be. So, good on you guys for doing the right thing.

but either way when someone is disappointed that "for the money" they they paid the same as the dude right below them who got a much better tube than they did (which we get, that's why we call it the lotto, but that doesn't make it less disappointing when you "lose") popping in to remind them that they can return it and have nothing instead - which everyone in this thread already knows given how often you say it - just doesn't really come across as useful input.

Sometimes people just want to vent or complain to the group.

Got my DTNVS in today. Here are my specs:

L/R

Luminous: 1999/2144
Radiant: 222/236
Halo: 0.65/0.98
EBI: 0.51/0.65
2x10-6 fc (K): 69924/69208
Res: 64/64
FOM: 1964.8/1728
SNR: 30.7/27

Left tube is blem free, right has a small spot in zone 2.

My PVS14 got delivered, looking forward to getting home to check everything out. I see what NGI/TNVC is doing.  Shipping when there is a full moon to make everything look better . Tricks on you, I'm not coming out of the basement.

PVS14 got delivered today. Great specs other than the EBI.  Quick look shows a zone 3 blem and something in zone 2 that looks like a blurry spot. It may be something on the lense, I’ll have to inspect closer later.

Lum 2484
Halo .66
EBI 2.27
Res 72
SNR 34
FOM 2455

Not sure how much of a problem that EBI will be.  I hunt in hot/humid conditions in rural areas where it’s really dark so it may be a no-go for me unfortunately.

Well, I didn't hit the spec PowerBall, but not too shabby.

Lum 1707
Halo .81
EBI .21
Res 64
SNR 26.9
FOM 1721

One small blem in zone 2 that you need a solid wall to find.

Sees in the dark just fine.
One thing I noticed is that the illuminator is way weaker than my RNVGs. It really seems less powerful than I remember on my issued 14s from the Army, but I've slept  since then.

Yeah, had my fingers crossed for a better SNR, but I live in the woods so the low EBI definitely helps.

I'd be totally happy with that. My snr is a hair lower and I get by just fine.

I don't remember the last time I used my onboard IR.

Check out Silent Solutions (AKA Sam from TNVC) on YouTube he explains it all. And he shows his DICC in one video.

I know the info is probably buried in this thread somewhere but I can’t seem to find it.

Is there a way to get notified ahead of time about when these units will become available again?

Also, does the arfcom discount apply on these Elbit systems?

I’m hopefully getting a Lamneth restitution check soon and I’ll be looking to buy one of these PVS14’s (or an RNVG if I can convince my boss).

Howdy Folks,

Got my RNVGs in from the January order window. Here are the specs. I’m happy.

Lum 1806/1944
Halo 0.89/0.70
EBI 0.31/0.17
Res 64/64
FOM 1894/1804

Only (1) small blem in Zone 2 on the left tube.

Thanks TNVC/NGI!

Friend received his PVS-14, 7523.

Luminous: 2254
Halo: 0.86
EBI: 0.71
Res: 72
FOM: 2232
SNR: 31

Noticeable .009-.012 spot in zone 2, but he is super happy with it. His previous experience is a OMNI VII PVS-7 and GP ECHO PVS-14 that I loaned him for a few months.

Two Blems in zone 2, one the size of a pin prick. I'm quite happy, but unfortunately my old Omni IV tube was spotless, so it's gonna take some getting used to "accepting" the larger blem.

Had a similar spot in mine but a bit further out and a little larger, hated it at first but after really using it night shooting and walking in the woods I didnt even notice it any more.  They have to fail the cut for some reason and if the specs are good then it has to be something cosmetic.  Unfortunately my spec lottery winning 2700 FOM xls started dying after a month with what appears to be a huge emissions point, hoping I get a decent spec one back.

Zone 3 spots in each tube.

Not amazing but for the price I'd say it's a great value.

For others with DTNVS, do you notice the light pipe (LED indicator for low battery/IR light) when it's off? Got mine during the 4th of July sale and just had time to take it outside in the night for some walk around. The light pipe is quite obvious and covering part of the image on the left pod, on the right to a smaller extend, I never had the same issue with my L3 PVS-14.

A quick exam with power off it looks like the light pipe is much larger and protrudes into the phosphors screen, with the left one seems even larger and not as clear. Compare to the one on PVS-14, it's just short of the screen.

Will & Joshua at TNVC took care of this by "shaving" the light pipes, apparently the light pipes that come from AIB may be a little oversized. Just got it back and looks great, thanks Will and Joshua!

So was there a drop on 7/4? I didn't see anyone saying they ordered. Trying to figure out if one is coming soon or if it just happened. Don't want to wait until next year to order then it take 6 months to build...

Yeah I'm with you on that.  It seems like the lead time is really 12 months.  6 months to be able to order then 6 months to build, assuming you get the notification that the 30 minute window to order is open

@tnvc Did you drop some in July? I know you "don't know when we will have more" but surely you have an idea if there will be some relatively soon or like next year.

The best suggestion that I can make is to get on the notifications list, sign up for our newsletters, and keep an eye on our social media.

This isn't an attempt to plug our accounts--however because demand has continued to exceed supply, we are having to coordinate releases in such a way that it is as fair to everyone as possible.

That being said, claims of greater than normal supply difficulties from Elbit by some vendors have been greatly exaggerated.

Whenever they do drop again, will they have to be built to order from that point or will you have some ready to go?

We will have some pre-built units, however we may or may not choose to accept a small number of back orders to the extent we feel that it is reasonable and sustainable--again, the issue at large is that demand still exceeds supply at this time, not just in the night vision industry, but in many industries. Because of the huge demand for the XLS systems, we have been continually assessing and evaluating our release strategies and for every person who is upset that product is not immediately in-stock and ready to ship, there's another that is literally begging to get on a backorder list, even if they have to wait six months or more.

We are trying to strike the best balance between availability and reasonable backorder times, as well as being fair to all customers who are looking to get one.
