...showed up today.  What am I in for?

Only downside is the bottom pushpin was missing, next to the mag.

If that's a Zenith, check your cleaning kit. Extra push pins inside.

No cleaning kit.  Gunbroker purchase -- go figure.  Advertised as new, then the guy said it was fired 100 rounds (which it really does appear so, or less).  He refunded a little over $400 of the retail price paid, so if its missing a bit... not as worried, given the present market rarity.

Congratulations on the purchase!
I was watching that GB auction too... the winning bid was a bit shocking to me.

I am also in the market for a Z5RS, I've been a fan of the Mp5 series for a long time.
Kelley Enterprise and Zenith told me it will be June or July until the next batch arrives.

Retail for the rifle is $1,999

Despite the auction price, he dropped the total package price to $2,118 which wasn't terribly bad for a "I want it now" price vs. waiting for the next batch to arrive from Turkey at an unknown.

What are you in for? A highly finicky firearm that hates half of all magazines not made by HK, is extremely sensitive to fouling in the trunion area causing FTF and jams, and is a PITA to clean. Stocks are expensive. Handguards (other than the one you have now) are expensive. Optics mounts are a pain to mount and then scratch the paint. You are super limited on what you can do with the trigger (little can be done to improve it). Parts are expensive. You always have HK purists looking down their noses at you telling you "it's a clone, not a real HK" snobbery bullsh*t.

They're the worst.

That all being said... I have 11 roller locked guns.

I feel bad for your 9mm ammo stockpile, these stupid guns eat a lot and shit out fluted fairy droppings.

Nice.
$2118 is a whole lot better than the winning bid I saw.
I would get it at this price if I've known that is the final cost.

RTG will have the small push pin you are in need of.
Mother than that, load up on ammo. It will be a fun shooter for you.

@kiddsf To be honest, I didn't know this would be the final price.  I have incredibly dumb luck like that.

Full size is my favorite, in fact I had to buy a second.  You’ll love it! Such a great gun!

I'm undoubtedly getting another one and turning it into an SBR.  Most likely the MP5K

Each had its place, that’s why every mp5 owner needs both.

Send the trigger pack off to Bill Springfield. Probably the single best improvement you can make on an MP5 type weapon. He can smooth out the trigger pull and lower the weight. Takes the heavy mushy military trigger and makes it usable.

I think his turnaround is about two weeks.

The arfcom takedown case fits an mp5 nicely

(Got them on sale for $25 or so)

I also just bought a Z5RS.
It was $1700 shipped w/ SB Brace, Zenith soft case, upgraded trigger pack, M-Lok HG.

IMO it was a great deal seeing how much they are selling for now on GB and other sites.
I also have POF mags, and standard wide HG coming.

I can't wait to receive it and to shoot it.

I need a full size.  It's the only gun that never gets left at home when I hit the range.  Attachment Attached File

If you're only going to have 2, I recommend a standard A2/A3 full-size and a K-PDW (3-lug).

But there's no wrong choice.

Does the tri-lug adapter on that scorpion have enough room to clear a can and lock on without hitting the shoulder?

No idea.

I put put it on just to see how it'd look and haven't removed it yet.  The tri-lug adapter was bought for a 9mm AR I'll be putting together soon.  Also, my pistol cans are still in NFA jail.
