Jealous of the love that 10/22's get I decided to show some to Marlin. Started Sunday night designing it and though out the week testing various prints. Finally got to the range this morning and it  was a complete success.

This is awesome. Any more details on the prototype process, the material used, etc?

Nice work!

It's too bad there's not a bigger aftermarket for these great rifles!

The process was me just grabbing a 795 from my safe and a pair of calipers and doing the measuring. Modeled in Tinkercad (the most basic CAD program out there) then just print, test fit and repeat till everything works.

Material is just standard PLA+ filament. Each print took roughly 4 hours and cost was maybe $2 each.

Who needs aftermarket when Marlin did it right the first time.

Nah I agree it would be nice to have a few more choices out there.

Very cool.  How did you secure the barrel?

How is the wear?  I'd imagine the bolt movement puts more stress on it than the actual firing.  Between this and the Mac Daddy, I've gotten more interested in printing and I'm thinking about buying one- plus I could create my own army of small scale creatures to sit in the window collecting dust.

Only have 200 rounds through it so far but holding up.  If/when it does give up I'll just print a new one.  Cost is roughly $3 and takes 4 hours to print.

This is freaking awesome!! Have always had a soft spot for the 795. Please keep us updated on the wear and round count. Notice any accuracy loss going from the metal to the plastic receiver?
