I’m by no means an expert, but the scope serial number does match the stampings on the side of the receiver. That would be correct from what little I know.

It’s fake. The scope and mount are definite reproductions.

That's a mismatched mess with a reproduction scope and mount. Don't waste your time.

It's a Inter Ordnance Repro, not original but they are nicely done and should be a good shooter just don't pay real price for it.
Tula made very few 1942 PU snipers in like two prefix blocks and that one isn't in one. |

There is many things wrong. It has izhevsk sniper stamps, not the normal tula sniper marks. Tula should have a C and N across the barrel not just C (that c mark is also in the wrong place.) The scope number was not put there on tula snipers but on the mount. The mount doesn't look right, and the serial doesn't line up with a batch from that year.

A real original 1942 Tula PU would bring thousands as it is very rare. |

As already said, it's a repro imported from Ukraine in the mid 90's by Interordnance. The C stamp is a legacy mark associated with Gary Coles of Coles Distributing. He contracted a Ukrainian company to assemble these rifles and had them marked with the C so that they couldn't be mistaken for original PU snipers. He was unaware that Izhevsk used the "Circle C" stamp on legit snipers at the time which has caused some confusion. After the contract with Coles was completed Interordnance came along signed a similar contract with the same Ukrainian company. This company continued to use the Coles C stamp, something that Gary was apparently pissed about but couldn't stop.
