I've been thinking about getting a different stock on my 16" 10/22. That magpul hunter looks pretty nice. I really like the adjustable comb height feature. Any thoughts, positive or negative on that stock? Other suggestions are more than welcome, but I'm not looking to put much more money into it. Thanks.

I have the magpul takedown on my 10/22. Thought it was crazy to spend $100 on a $200 gun but damn if it isn’t the best upgrade I’ve made to a 10/22 in years. Comfy, well thought out, makes you feel like you’re shooting a rifle instead of a toy.

Do it. If you don’t like it you can sell on the EE and be out maybe $10

That's what all Magpul products seem to have in common, being well designed and tested.

I setup a bull barrel 10-22 last year and put it in a Magpul stock

Fits great... super solid.... very happy with it

I put together a nice 10/22 with a 16” bull barrel and mated it to a full Magpul stock. I freaking love it! Buy with confidence.

This. Fit perfectly with my KIDD barrel and the stock feels great. Adjustable comb height was exactly what I needed, too.

I put one on a standard carbine and really like it. Not my cup of tea visually but the grip angle and adjustable comb are really nice.

Building up a 10/22 and just got mine delivered yesterday.  Love what I see so far.  I really appreciate the ability to adjust the LOP as most stocks just seem to short for me.

I just finished up another 10/22 build and used the hunter stock and I love it.  Solid, lightweight and lots of good features.  Great stock for the price!

I love mine. A real upgrade to the original. The only negative I can think of is it's uncomfortable to hold one armed with it resting on my forearm. It's just due to the shape. Other than that, I love it!

I like the hunter but for my lighter 10/22 I wish I could get my hands on a T/CR22 Magpul stock to replace my Hogue.

(PM me if you have one laying around )

I like the magpul but the hot ticket for a lightweight rifle is the T/C stock. Most guys seem to swap them out but I love them. They are slightly scaled down and much lighter. Great stock when you can find them, shit the TCR/22 is the best retail 10/22 you can buy. I can’t say enough good things about them.

I’ve been shooting my 10/22 a lot more recently with ammo prices the way the are.

Been thinking about making this upgrade myself.

This for sure!  I was able to pick up 2 of them on sale for $279 each.  Man such a great value for a 10/22 style gun.  So many more features than a stock 10/22 and less money.  Great guns!
I’ve added slings and red dots and my sons love them.  Great for younger kids because they are so lightweight.
