fwiw, You are missing the threaded rod that attaches it to the barrel support.

They stopped using those because the prongs
Would break off when they got heat cycled too many
times.  That is Nam era surplus

Same reason the m60 duckbill flash suppressor
went away - ringing + overheat -> breakage
