Does this look normal to y’all?

Why doesn’t someone make a think plate to insert into the back to take the force of the recoil on the recoil and ejector rods?

No bulge or anything strange.

Ill take my upper of tonight as see what it looks like. To be honest ive never really paid much attention to the wear marks on my M11, figured its all steel and can take a beating.

Yeah Im looking at it the same way. But what divoting out I am seeing looks like its coming from the grinding of the rods against the plate.

I may cut a square of bike inner tube and place it in there.

If the rods themselves had a better finish it wouldn't be a issue. Needs a nice flat mushroom shape instead of a shovel spade type pinch.

Isn't there a urethane buffer that goes back there?

no it goes between the bolt and the plate. The 2 rods stick out the back side of the plate.

My 1985 M11/9 looked like that the day I bought it in 2013 fitted it's entire life with a stock upper (I assume), and it looks the same today five years and 5,000~ish rounds later with a Lage Max11 mk1 upper fitted.

Maybe put some thin leather in there. I think rubber might tear quicker.

I think you're fine.  I'm pretty sure mine looks the same.  Just dont shoot +p ammo in it.  If you're concerned email or call Sam at Practical Solutions.  He will let you know for sure.  He's great to talk to and can offer you some good info.
