There is no federal law preventing the legal ownership of smoke discharging grenades. There maybe laws or rules specific to your state of residence.

A little late, but there was a local gun shop selling various M 18 smoke grenades for about 60 a pop. Not sure if they have them any more though.

What about the CS gas grenades? Look the same as the smoke but blue lettering.

I haven’t ever seen any for sale. Just knew someone who said they had some expired ones. Just wondered if they were legal for civilians to own.
