I found a used scorpion Evo. It’s fde and said it’s a gen 2. What is the difference between the generations.  He told me the thread pitch is 1 by 28.  I asked him if he had the case said it came in a cardboard box.  It has it S D folding brace.  A  apex pistol grip.   4 30round mag’s and 2 20 round mags.   He’s asking 875

Do you think that’s a good deal

What question should I ask to make sure that it is the Gen 2

The FDE and 1/2x28 thread pitch would indicate Gen 2. The Gen 2 also has a rear sling attachment point.

Yup dual threaded muzzle (1/2x28 and M18x1rh) makes it a Gen2

ETA:
Mfg date is a 2 digit number above the s/n on the bolt, next to the CIP proof marks.

When did they stop using the welded  trigger housing screw.  He says this thing is about a-year-old

My gen 2 has welded trigger pack screw that broke loose with minimal extra force from hex key wrench

Mine is probably 6 months old, Gen 2 and had the welded screw. It was a simple 3 minute fix. I agree $800.

No specific date but the non welded packs started rolling out last March when the flash can pistol was released. If you’re buying an evo new, you shouldn’t have the welded screw unless it’s old stock. If you do get one welded, like others said.. you may get lucky just using the Allen key and some force. If the weld is substantial you can drill the weld or get a trigger replacement pack from cz usa for free.
