I have my great-grandfather's war bring-back Gew98, 1918 dated, that my grandfather cut the stock down on when he was a teenager.

In recent years, my grandfather had been trying to find a replacement stock for this as he had come to regret cutting the stock.  Now that he's passed on, I thought I'd continue his effort to try and find a stock but I'm not really seeing anything out there.


Any ideas on where to look, or leads?

Gunboards, Simpsons Ltd, liberty tree, EBay GunBroker etc.

It'll be tough and expensive. Good luck

Post a picture on what’s left of the stock...I’m sure most of us have a stash of old stocks that either will work, or you could cobble something together..

I'll post some tonight, maybe you guys can help figure out what some history of it is...

I know it's not a numbers matching rifle, I think it was run through an arsenal in Poland due to a 'z' inside a triangle stamped on the receiver ring.  The barrel & receiver numbers match, but I'm unsure what else.
