What plunger do you have installed in your riflespeed? It should be the shortest one (.887), not the one it comes installed with. Check your gas key, and make sure its not loose. If it passes these checks and still doesn't run, send us an email at [email protected] and we'll email you a shipping label to take it in for troubleshooting. |

If you drilled it out to .086 and it still doesnt run without a can, there might be something else restricting or leaking gas. I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot. |

My KAK 12.5 barrel runs excellent with no suppressor. I had sent it in to the L6 guys to open the gas port and install and pin my Riflespeed gas block. I don’t know what size they opened the port to . Harvey, what have you been opening those ports to? My setup is. A5 tube, H3 buffer, Springco Orange spring Riflespeed gas block. I run it on a Colt M16. I have an Inoculum lower with an Arcfire V2 A5 tube H3 with Orange spring, set up with a KNS Spade grip assembly. I have not yet had a chance to try it out yet. |

I've never tried it without the can, I just ASSumed it needed the can since it was a suppressed only barrel. |

So I am short-stroking on my DIY build. Probably 60-80 rounds through it with a mix of jams, double feeds, and mostly the bolt just not closing. Mid-length barrel from KAK "Lima 6" barrel, so I realize the gas port is likely undersized - running a can or not made no difference in performance. HOWEVER: I am using the included black 308 spring, a 5.6 oz buffer and the "spring booster" spacer in an A5 tube, per instructions. When troubleshooting - I realized the spacer is preventing complete travel of the bolt rearward (the pin on the bolt doesn't come anywhere close to the rear of the receiver). I removed the spacer and now have full range on the bolt - I need to see if this solves the problem but I'm posting here to see if that's just a quirk, expected or? Anyway, next step will be to verify the port size of my KAK barrel, maybe lighten the buffer weight slightly and see what happens. Just throwing it out there that the spacer seemed to be counter-productive? |

Also, check the roll pin on your buffer, if its not fully seated it could be hitting the spacer. I'd be happy to take the upper in for troubleshooting at any time. |

During brrakin you are not supposed to use a heavy buffer; I am reading yhis post as you are atill in breakin AND you are using a heavy buffer. Also make sure you have plenty of grease. My breakin wasn't smooth, but it was entirely because I didn't grease it when done building. |

I drilled my 12.5" KAK to 0.093" and was able to run it flawlessly using a Superlative Arms gas block unsuppressed. I have a break muzzle device. It also ran great with a B&T flow through can. I ran about 600 rounds through it this weekend. Previously with the port drilled to 0.086" it would only run with my Nomad 30 installed. |
| Yeah, it all goes back to reading the manual. I watched the video during assembly but slacked off once it was together and cycled by hand. I have the recommended grease, lube, bought more Loctite to round out my collection, and a few tools I needed for other parts of the build. Standard oil just smoked right off mine when I did my initial test of around 120 rounds or so, fighting issues the entire time. I have the manual on my workbench open to the greasing instructions and will be doing that before the next time. |

Also make sure you have plenty of grease. My breakin wasn't smooth, but it was entirely because I didn't grease it when done building. I did start with the included standard buffer per the instructions, but (not realizing the bolt didn't have full travel at the time), I switched to a heavy buffer to see if the extra mass would help with fully seating the bolt. The upper does fire, just very infrequently cycles the second round without failure. Since it is a DIY build, I have been experimenting a bit and only recently realized the spacer was impinging bolt travel. I'm at a loss as to WHY it does that, since the spacer easily accommodates the buffer when test-fitting. My guess is the included .308 black spring may be binding enough to offset the buffer in the tube - but still it's weird. The buffer pin is flush on both sides, and I'm not seeing any scuffs or witness marks on the buffer body. I even manually verified the A5 tube length and buffer length to make sure I didn't mix something up somehow. I AM running this with a Partisan FRT, and if I can find a standard lower fire control group in my parts bin, that's another thing to switch out. Correct, that's how it was installed. The roll pin is flush on both the included and the heavy buffer I experimented with, and the buffer easily fits through the spacer so it doesn't make any sense why it should be limiting bolt travel, but I tried it with the spacer, without, and with again getting the same results (limited bolt travel with spacer) both times. ![]() I suspect that either the spring flex or just dumb luck is causing the buffer to get caught up more often than not, so hopefully it works without the spacer - perhaps that will explain my troubles. I'm going to try it without the spacer and double-check my barrel port size - since I want to check the gas block alignment as well, and if neither of those work I will take you up on sending it in. I just want to triple check my own stuff before I potentially waste your time on something already covered in the instructions. |

Update: I drilled out the KAK barrel gas port to 3/32", verified the gas block alignment. No change. I swapped trigger groups from the Partisan FRT to a mil-spec trigger group. No change. I swapped ammo from XTAC m193 to Winchester m193. No change. PM inbound for a shipping label.

Upper ran flawless on our M16 lower and everything passed inspection. The lower had an issue with the super safety lever, it needed a centering block installed on the lever. We installed the centering block and it functioned 100% using KJVAV's lower. The gun was shipped back today (same day turnaround). |

This is awesome! |
@RRA_223 we got your upper today. Field stripped it and checked all the parts. Everything is in spec and latest design. We cleaned it and shot 20 rounds in semi and full auto with no malfunctions:![]() RRA_223 Test Fire That with an M16 lower, A5 tube, sprinco orange spring, and H3 buffer. So I would suspect something is going on with your lower receiver or FCG. We'd be happy to send you a sprinco orange spring and see if that fixes your issue. |

It missed the UPS pickup so will go out tomorrow. |

Finally got out to test my build. LOVE this gun!!! I ran tul .223 and 855. Both had a few hiccups. But I noticed it was mostly when wanting more lube. Easily cleared and ran fine. The can also worked beautifully. For $300ish I'm very happy. Lots of blowback but didn't effect aim/accuracy and made it feel a little like a ride. ![]() The Armageddon suppressor pouch was very impressive. I intentionally got the can extremely hot and then used the pouch to grip, remove and store the can. The outside of the pouch was barely warm. Excellent product. Thoroughly impressed with the brass catcher. Caught every shell and link without issue. Held 200 cases and links no problem. Vid not loading, here's a pic. Attached File |

I think its the MCR model but I reached out to the owner who made it custom to order for me. Not cheap but excellent function and quality. Well worth the price not to have to police any brass or links in foot high grass. |

It was like its own smoke generator and that was only at a leisurely semi-only firing schedule. I bought the recommended grease and lubrication oil and followed the instruction booklet on applying it, so it will be interesting to see how that affects things once I get the replacement gas block on. |

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, maybe it was. The midwest industries reaction rod is now available. Id emailed them a while back and they'd said they were working on it. Had gotten by without a reaction rod for ARs as I really havnt needed one. Was hoping but hadn't confirmed it was possible to make a rod that had a movable sail fin that would make it dual use. For sure would make it an easy buy because now id have a regular AR rod as well as one for the putting my lima back together. Sure enough they did in fact make it compatible with both the lima and regular ARs. Its finally available. https://midwestindustriesinc.com/upper-receiver-rod-lima-6-ar15/ |
