Zmags are used in a stock M11/9 and will not work in any solution that uses suomi mags. SMags are NLA. They were fantastic but they were not worth the reinvestment by shockwave due to how slow they were bought. |

Thread in Uzi Talk Lage posted there will be a .45 ACP version for the M10 with Glock pattern or Grease Gun mag adapters. Are there larger capacity Glock 21 mags that actually work? M3 mags are the obvious choice for people with a bunch of them, but they are heavy and bulky. I put myself on the list of a 12 upper with Glock and Scorpion adapters for the M11A1. Still trying to decide on the 45 upper for the 10/9. I already have a BRP-Stemple with the .45 conversion, but I do like options. |

The M10 already had/has a GG mags variant (I own one) and by putting the mag in front of the gun all you do is add weight and length. Only possible advantage is lower ROF. It can be difficult to slow a M10/45. I believe the normal Lage 45ACP M10 upper does slightly lower ROF. Edit: Lage website advertises 750RPM with the Max10/45 upper. I do need to snag one of those still. |

Someone of Uzi talk said something about it not fitting over their suppressor mount. |

Someone of Uzi talk said something about it not fitting over their suppressor mount. That specific case is related to the YHM phantom QD. I have that on several rifles and the outer ring that depresses and locks the can is pretty wide compared other mounting solutions like 3 lug or barrel threaded. |

It's pretty similar in size to many QD mounts. I don't trust direct thread on an MG. Just an FYI to folks. I run KeyMo so I'm not sure how it would affect me. |

Macmachineguns.com also makes an adapter so that normal Z mags can be used with the max 31. https://macmachineguns.com/product/ps-31-zmag-adapter/ |

I have some Z-S mags for my MAX-31k upper. They work, but they are hard to load, relatively expensive even when they are available, and not as reliable as actual Suomi mags. I have them because they were the only game in town for stick mags in that upper. Given a choice, I wouldn’t choose the Z-S pattern mags, or the Z mags over any of the other options Lage is offering with the new uppers. Glock and Scorpion mags are cheaper, more available, more reliable, easier to load, and made by multiple manufacturers. Once I have one of these uppers for my M11A1 I will probably sell the Z-S mags. The coffins and drums run perfectly in the 31k upper, and I can switch to the new upper to use stick mags. I don’t see using the Z-S mags again. |

I have a mag loader for them, but they are still not nearly as easy to load as other designs in my experience. In fairness to them, they work most of the time. They are just the required solution for stick mag use in previous Lage uppers. The actual Suomi stick mag is a way better magazine, and also more available and cheaper. With the new uppers, they are the obvious choice if one also wants to use coffins and/or drums. I appreciate the existence of Z-S mags. I didn’t have the best experience with them, but they also were not Promags or USA magazines. |

Nothing wrong with keeping your current Lage upper. I have five or six of them that I plan on keeping. While those legacy uppers all work just fine, this new upper is a definite upgrade over the previous models, especially for competition use. I vividly remember Tom Wright (VegasSMG; RIP friend), telling me the Max-31 upper was way better than the original Max-11. I told him I was going to stick with my Max-11 and saw no need to upgrade….until I shot the new (then) Max-31. 😀 |

I'm interested in know how you can directly compare mags that do work in a Max31 with mags that do not and say one works better for the Max31 (the one that does not work). I can't say when the last time I saw suomi stick mags for sale. A quick search shows me WhatACountry is the only source that has them on the first page of my internet search. Everyone else is OOS. At $24 they are cheap but still don't work without a double feed bolt. My SMags are full of sand, dirt, dust, suppressor soot, you name it. Never a hiccup. I really should pull them apart and clean them. |
