[ARCHIVED THREAD] - I have an unused .30 cal Form 1, what should I build?

I filed a Form 1 a while back and kinda forgot about it. I also have a machine shop, mills/lathes/tig/etc, so I can essentially build whatever I want from a design standpoint.

Part of me says do a direct-thread monocore then permanently attach it to the barrel. It's either a suppressor or a stupid long compensator depending if the tube is installed and gets me out of another SBR stamp.

Has anyone seen any neat custom .30 cal stuff?

If you don't have an integral, you need one. Bolt will be the quietest.

And I wouldn't hold fast on that "It's either a suppressor or a stupid long compensator depending if the tube is installed". Ask Sig how that went.

I'll have the paperwork regardless, so not a big deal.

Ruger ranch in 300 blk/ 7.62x39, cut down with your integral added, is what I would do unless I could find a cool gun to do it with.
