Push forward set triggers are not Germanic style, and this rifle was clearly rebuilt in the Good Ol' USA.
Thoughts on maker? This is the best picture from the auction, they had no close up of the trigger.  Attached File |

There were some German produced Model 1922 Newton rifles that used a Mauser action, and utilized a similar set trigger.
You need to get a look at the markings .....if it is a Newton, it's been massacred !  a US Made (Buffalo) Newton for comparison:
