The golf ball dimples really don't add much at all, but this pattern is grippy, but not too rough. It also looks pretty cool IMO. Has anyone tried this on the grip section of a polymer rifle stock yet? Thinking about trying this out to add some grip instead of using some sort of resin. |

This belongs to a buddy: Cavalry Arms lower that has had it's length of pull shortened by almost two full inches, grip reduction/reshape, trigger guard undercut, grip stippled and had the outside of the magazine well stippled. All that was followed by some CeraKote OD and a custom made rubber butt plate. Only the right side, front and back straps of the grip were stippled so the texture does not drag on skin, clothing or gear.

Got bored last night and decided to try my hand at stippling. I used a craftsman dual wattage soldering gun with the included "craft" tip that is pictured. I practiced on the G3 grip first and I was very happy with how it turned out, so I decided to try it on my main carry piece, the P3AT. I have sanded it very lightly since these pics, just to get rid of the very sharp points and I LOVE the way it feels. It took me about 15min to do the G3 grip and about 45 min to do the Kel-Tec. I'm Hooked!

I stippled some of my KAC railcovers today. Been wanting to try this for a while but was hesitant because I
didn't know how hard it was. Now, I want to stipple more! VERY easy to do. I dremeled off the ribs before I stippled them. I put them back on my carbine and wow! You can't hardly pry it out of your hands. Makes a huge difference. I'll try to snap some pics and post them in a few days. Think I'm gonna stipple all my rail covers eventually. This was very fun. I finally worked up the nerve and here is my first attempt. I wanted to retain some of the Gen3 finger groove bumps, but not all of their original height. I am quite happy with my results.  It is VERY grippy but due to the shallow texture it is not abrasive and does not snag my shirt. |

I don't like extended mag releases since I do carry IWB a lot of the time and this gun does see some off-duty carry. But the biggest difference I saw was with undercutting the trigger guard. |

You may have to refinish after the bevel. The frame on the 19 was refinished with duracoat. You may be able to sand and smooth it down well enough to get away with not refinishing. |
