Good evening hive. I love my Razorback upper but would like to maybe change out the handguard and stock to something that looks a bit more M249 or M240ish if that is even possible. I have the first gen Razorback with the simple chunky quad rail, not the later 1919esque version. Mine has always ran great and is easily one of my favorites, but I never cared for the original quad rail. I'm not married to the idea of swapping it out but I've been looking through hundreds of pictures of handguard designs to try to come up with something that looks more like an issued M249 or M240. I have the AR handguard adapter to attach it but would like some help deciding on a handguard or if I'm chasing the wind. Any sound recommendation would be helpful and food for thought. Thanks, folks! This pic is probably over 10 years old but the upper configuration hasn't changed other than a new RDS. Attached File |

If you dig around you will find the bump saw thread here where someone adapted an M249 handguard to work on an AR. I think he chopped the front of an airsoft gun to use the metal frame to do it. So far as the stock goes, the new Magpul DT PR stock looks good on a belt fed. Personally, that thing would be rad with Battlearms Development wood handguard, and stock. Check it out |

So far, that is the sexiest option I've seen so thank you for bringing it up. |
