ive searched a lot of threads trying to see if people have discussed added mods to their safes for security measures? Not so much the use of like wifi cameras but added trip-able sirens/alarms that can be armed/disarmed? maybe disarmable motion sensors in the interior that trip a high energy audible alarm? probably not practical but even adding plate steel to interior or exterior for added drill/cutting resistance, etc.

a good safe bolted to the floor, cameras.

Most thieves seem to be junkies that are looking for an easy grab and get out type score....contrary to internet lore they are not James bond types.

if you have guns/valuables unsecured...that's what they are taking.

remember people talk, so if you keep a shotgun by the door, your friends might casually mention it to someone who mentions it to someone who is in less then desirable circles, if your not home, lock your stuff up.

You can only do so much, bolting it to the floor is probably the single best thing that you can do, positioning it in a corner with the hinge side out makes getting a pry bar in there very difficult.
Most thieves are looking for a quick score and won't spend a lot of time on a burglary.
Now if you live out in the middle of nowhere it introduces other issues, but most of us have neighbors that will notice the truck ramming through your front door.

security is buying time and making everything a pain in the ass for a thief.  bolt the safe down. put it in a wall because the only true hardening is the front.  a grinder or plasma torch can go around the sides and get in.  put it in a space were its a pain in the ass to get tools in to work on it.  never leave the keys in your tractor, skid steer, mini-x, or anything that a thief can use to get your safe.  you can include door sensors to alarm on entry.  remember you're just buying time

And lock the safe door.  Cop told me 2 years ago about a nearby break-in.  They lost 5 pistols and a bunch of long gun because THE SAFE DOOR WAS UNLOCKED.

It was explained as they never thought they would suffer a robbery, and the kids were grown and gone.  Just closed the door, but never locked...
