| I'm new to suppressor but I can't decide on Griffin Taper mount or Dual lock ?? So please share your thoughts or your experiences.. |
| I [heart] my taper mounts. The dual lock accomplishes something I am not worried about at all- it coming off. Fuck, i think my recce is stuck on my duty rifle from carbon lock. |
I don’t like making plans for the day. Because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around in the courtroom.

My first experience with Griffin rifle mounts were Duallok since the can with the features I wanted was their new at the time DL5. Came from ASR so I thought I needed the secondary retention. Soon after ordering that I got some PCCs I wanted to suppress and switched to using Griffin taper mounts for the pistol caliber cans I had instead of messing with pistons and swapping fixed cage in for springs. That's when I learned I didn't really need the secondary lock for my needs. |
The plane flew, admit you're wrong and get over it.

Added a few ASR mounted suppressors and while I've had no issues, the mount adds quite a bit of weight. I'm going to pick up another RECCE 5K. That tapered mount is rock solid, excellent and consistent point of impact accuracy with very little effort to remove. I've read that the tapered mounts allow the expanding, heated can to lock on and it comes off easier after it cools. I haven't noticed a difference, but I'm also not running 1000 rounds through it at one time. For handguns, I'm sold on the tapered muzzle adapters and matched piston. So damn easy with the handguns, never had a single bit of walking off and point of impact is very consistent. While the investment cost is about the same (buy one piston but a muzzle adapter for each handgun), you don't have to waste time swapping your .45 suppressor pistons between a Sig P220 and HK45; that's been the biggest advantage for me along with a much more secure connection. Suppressor accessories are an expensive part of the "hobby" so it does require some planning to avoid piling up shit you don't use or need (like me! ). I've done quite a bit of experimentation and find the tapered mounts the best for simplicity, security, and great retention for point of impact when swapping around.ROCK6 |
