I recently purchased a Marlin 1894 CST, planning to shoot suppressed 38s.  As I started thinking about which can to mount, I realized I didn’t think this through.

Using the Gemtech One was the original plan, but that’s not going to work.  So I’m down to either a 45 Blackside or a 9mm Trinity.

The Blackside is threaded for my HK, so it’s not going to work without an adapter.  It’s not a current can, so I’m guessing I’m out of luck.

That leaves me with the 2007 Trinity.  Thread pitch matches and I’m assuming a .38 would fit (.357 vs. .356 for 9mm).  I’m assuming the Trinity is built a smidge larger and would handle 38 fine.

Can anyone confirm?

Only shooting 38, but it’s through a 16” barrel.

TIA

I have the exact firearm, but i have a GM-9 mounted and it works great. Especially with Winchester's cowboy action LRN's.

Either of the pistol cans will work. Fixed mounts or pistons with fixed barrel spacer.

I prefer 3 Lug on my marlin.

The Blackside and the current GM45 pistons are interchangeable. So you can get a GM45 piston in the correct threads. You would need the fixed barrel spacer also.
The Trinity would also work just fine.

I have a CST and it sounds amazing with an Omega 9K and 38 Spl loads. They're a really fun gun.
