Hi all I just purchased this safe, it's bout 48" high and 24x24" wide.

Does anyone have any info besides what I might be able to track down with google, or any leads as to other places to find info?

Safe is labeled "Gary" and dial is labeled Sargent and Greenleaf, Inc Rochester, NY

Not sure if this was the original dial, I got the safe for a very low price.  It has wheels that are aligned so that it can only be rolled sideways.  Weighs probably 500 lbs give or take 100

I only see a fire rating listed, does it imply a certain theft rating too?

1 hour fire rated document safe.  Old, but not antique.

thank you, I bought it to use for guns not as an antique for value, what level theft resistance do you think it has?  In other words, is this much or marginally better than the thin walled $800 stuff out there?  I paid less than $200 for it including the truck I rented to bring it home

It would be much harder for an amateur to compromise than most RSC rated containers, so you have that.

I used to have a shorter version of that safe.

good to know, trying to decide what if anything else to keep in it depending on how secure I feel it is.  It doesn't have holes to bolt down to the floor though if I get it down to a storage room in the basement by the time it's found I doubt anyone could get it out before I can get myself or the police there
