I dont think its that, but it could be...I think they did normal govt fashion no idea how many they would have thought the normal people like Rippley and them could do it but the flood gates open. between regular paid form 1, form 4 and brace, the last one I submitted was 2 weeks from the one before it and there 57k control # between them. they also pulled people that do not want to do this at field office and making them. so the people doing most were voluntold they would do it. I mean id they're doing 58k every two weeks since the start thats allot for the normal 13 people to do. plus having to get the new people up to speed. I know glowie, and I am not defending them. there life is to make the process bad. but just looking at the facts, I dont know how I would manage that influx of that much work with my team. |

Has anybody had any approvals in the last couple weeks? I did 1 efile then a week and a half later did 5 more efile on the same day and in 16 days one of the ones from the batch of 5 came back approved and then nothing since, been almost 2 months now. Check my email at least 5 times a day! I’d like to make a few changes on a couple of the guns but I’m reluctant until after they’re approved so that none of the measurements get screwed up just in case I need to send pictures or whatever. |

got first one back in 13 days it was number 3 of the 6 I submitted. second one was first I submitted and it was at 31 days.

Been following this thread for a little while and have a quick question for you that have registered your tax exempt form 1’s. Considering registering two of my lowers. But have a question on OAL. How are you all estimating OAL? With brace? Or since once registered it becomes a SBR and you can remove brace and put on a stock are use using estimates with a stock? |

Maybe they didn’t train the temp examiners for trusts, so they are using the regular examiners for the brace rule trust applications. |
| Well, so far they kicked one of mine back for the picture. So, I corrected that and resubmitted it last week. Nothing whatsoever on the other one I submitted, but guaranteed they'll kick it back for the pic as well. They had me use the internal control number from the original submission, so hopefully they don't expect me to resubmit fingerprints and it will get approved fairly quick. |

| I submitted my first free Form 1 on the ATF's website on February 21st 2023, under the pistol brace rule using my gun trust. I then submitted a couple more free Form 1's to register some more AR pistols using my gun trust during the first week of March. I mailed all my fingerprints using priority mail. All were approved today, April 21st. |

I’m probably going to file some this week but if they want a notarized inventory, I’ll just do individual. |

The attorney that created my trust wrote it for me and basically included a list of all my AR rifles and AR pistols being added to my gun trust. Of course it has to be in the trust prior to the Jan. 1st, 2023 postol brace ruling. I uploaded it to the ATF's website along with my gun trust when I did my application. Honestly, looking back it would have probably been easier to file as an individual and add the approved SBR's to my gun trust later. It's just more stuff to upload when you apply using a gun trust. I applied using my trust because when I purchased a suppressor in 2020, everyone was telling me that approvals were happening faster for trusts. I found out that this is not the case with this amenstey registration. I helped a friend file as an individual the week after I filed and his was approved in a little over 3 weeks.

Thanks for the detailed reply. That confirms my plan to file as an individual. I’ll make sure in my will that the trust is the beneficiary of the SBRs if I don’t transfer them later (at $200 a pop I would assume). I’ve never had a notarized schedule A. |

| seen allot more trust picking up. I think the realized the temp people could not do trust, cause it seems to be regular examiners even doing the brace trust stuff now. or they trying to pad there numbers doing allot of new ones to keep the number down. I have feb paid stuff still out there, not trust though. |

yep its crazy. I had a 4-8 approved today. still got feb paid ones out there and a 4-15 paid out there, along with 2 feb brace and one march brace. I emailed my examiner and asked him could he check the feb or since this is the 3rd sbr in 2 months and the background check is good for 100 days could he look at the other 6. he was quick to respond with and I quote... "The forms are worked in the order received. I only work the items assigned. I am unable to assist you further. If you have additional questions, please submit via eForms Ask the Expert. Thanks" which we know is bs unless he means the order he received them... |

On 4.21-23 I started receiving approval emails one after another about 2 minutes apart. |

That said, it appears that each individual examiner has wide latitude to do as they see fit so there's no guarantee that your examiner won't have a different opinion than the one that did mine. Also, it appears that they have added some temporary manpower to do the braces so you'll probably get a lot of differing ways in how it's handled because there are a lot of new examiners. |

They way I understood it is they (silencershop) wants pictures uploaded for them to verify the information you put matches that of the engraving on the lower. From reading through this thread if you do your own eForm1 it doesn’t appear to be required but can help in some instances. I only included a close up of the SN/model and manufacturer engravings. |

But as it sits now, Ask an Expert or calling them is pretty much useless. If it shows Submitted/In Progress on the website, that’s the answer you’ll get from NFA Division. |

I applied for my second group of AR pistols, and one AK pistol under the pistol brace rule for free registration on April 14th. I also used my gun trust for these free Form 1 registrations. I submitted paper fingerprints by USPS Priority Mail. They were all approved today (April 25th, 2023). They were approved by the same examiner that approved my first group of AR pistols on April 21st. Is 11 days a record?! |
