Got to shoot a 50 cal for the first time today and it was a Barrett semi auto. I was a little nervous at first, but after the first shot, I couldn’t get enough. It was a rush. Hard to go back to anything smaller after that. I don’t think I hit on this shot, but did hit a few at 800 meters. Shooting incendiaries, so spotting hits was easy.

Before I bought my M82 I had never shot a 50bmg. The first time I took it out I was straight up intimidated by it too.

Typical! I was anxious with my first shot. Seen sever seasoned shooters that have shot my M82 be twitchy and clearly dealing with anxiety of some kind with the first shot as well. These days when I let newbies shoot, I usually ask they just point at the berm and pull the trigger. See how it shoves you then try to get it on the plate!
