I was overtaken by temptation and bought some CETME LC kits from Apex. For $140 ea when you buy 2 or more and with original barrels seemed like a good deal. HOWEVER - Who has receivers or flats to build with? I seem to recall there was a vendor that offered 100% receivers other than Marcomar and not sure if Marcomar ever offered individual 100% receivers vs complete guns. |

A safety advisory on the building of these kits regarding bolt velocity from years back when they were in surplus kits before. The bolt velocity will be likely too high on a good new receiver. Extra strength springs required. Caution should be applied. You really don't want a runaway gun - it can be very dangerous. https://www.forgottenweapons.com/cetme-lc-the-short-one-safety-psa/ ![]() Runaway CETME-LC: Safety PSA |

One model is to proliferate the market with lots of support (like with Cetme C) But there were lots of those and G3s around - or withhold the access to a rent-a-jig model, etc to channel it to one operator for the more limited L, LC market. |

$129 on bent flats - $479 for green receiver without rail. I'd prefer a finished receiver but with no trunnion - It seems like it would be easier for the barreled LC kit to just weld in the barrel and trunnion together in a bent flat or receiver without a trunnion - seems easier than pressing in and out a barrel. |

Was thinking the same thing. Especially with the cocking tube in place You'd have to come up with a bit of a gizmo to keep from messing up the reciever. I can't remember what I used for pressing in ak barrels |

Well I missed the boat on all that. I have the kit, and didnt get an email this time. I want one of those bent receivers without the weldments. edit: Just noticed Marcolmar removed their U.S. stocks and parts including the info about receivers on their website. Theres a video somewhere saying they were running out of kits to build rifles with, but will still support the home builders. |

It appears Centerfire Systems has made a deal to sell Marcomar CETME L type receivers and parts. They just listed some receivers and folded shells for kit builders. Some are sold out - supposedly more to come as fabrication moves on at Centerfire. What is missing currently is the lowers and parts (including the Marcomar modified selector) required for a build. Centerfire is supposedly working on that - Like building a G3 kit = has to be some form a denial for the full auto lower I am not sure if you need to buy the special lower pack pieces or if one can actually modify a lower themselves sort of like DIYers on kit builds did on G3 kits. |

Yep, I saw in the description the lower trigger pack is coming. You need 7 U.S. parts and of course modify from FA fire. |

I bought it at Apex as "non-functional" but all it needed was its battery terminals cleaned. I didn't have a CETME L but it was a STANAG mount - It worked okay. I sold it to someone who had one of the CETME Marksman guns for a pricey some and bought a SIg MCX 9" with the profit. Now I kind of want it back

In planning this out for re-welding on the square cocking tube - What have people used as a makeshift jig on the LCs? Copper pipe was king of nice for "round" cocking tubes for HKs and there are jigs made of aluminum forHKs as well. Anyone have a recommendation or idea? I can't find square copper tubing in the right size. Have people just butted them up and done it? I'd be worried about weld buildup in the tube that isn't easy to clean out. |

Maybe just a strip of flat copper and do one flat section at a time. I was going to do a full flat bend up and weld, but with the way things are going I just bought a receiver. I think we will see them slowly sell out inventory and maybe do a few runs of receivers. Im in the get it while you can boat. Who knows if theres more kits being released. |

Stock fits tight, and had to give it a few bumps to get it to seat. So that new paint job will have some scratches right off. The trigger box you can get started in the back just to kinda eyeball it. No way it will fit with the semi mods. Figure they are clearing stuff out little by little. I wanted a flat, then the one with no weldments, It sold out in 30 minutes. |

The receivers look nice - Hopefully Centerfire can continue to make with same quality. I'm interested in the trigger group mods that need to be done - Does anyone have some details? Do you really need to buy the Marcomar inner group assembly? Or can one modify the the original pack the way we did for G3 and Cetme 308 builds? |

Heres a link with extensive info another arfcomer made. Scroll way down. Link Edit to say. Centerfire is just the retail liquidator, they arent making anything. Also looks like they are down to four types of receivers at Centerfire. |

Correct, and im guessing the trunnion is a new U.S. part. You would be guessing wrong.. Side note, stupid simple build. Attached File Hardest part is the front sight base. You will need a press as there’s some sort of funny business going on. Almost like it’s spot welded to the barrel somehow. Short of this you can build one of these with hammers and punches including barrel removal and install. Attached File |
Its to late for the boots, save your watch!

So installing the barrel is just a matter of pushing it in from the receiver side until it bottoms the shoulder out onto the trunion? Without deforming the receiver obviously. There’s no setting headspace issue when installing the barrel? That actually looks easier than I thought it would be. I wonder what it would take to swap one of the LC barrels onto a Marcolmar CETME L built rifles? |

I wonder what it would take to swap one of the LC barrels onto a Marcolmar CETME L built rifles? Probably 20-30 minute swap. The only problem with push/pin is if it doesn’t work on the bolt gap I haven’t found new rollers yet. You have a shot it will work but there’s also a shot of having excessive bolt gap. I bought an aluminum stock piece off scamazon that was $13/14 and a tube that was about the same. Really only ended up using the solid stock. If you were going to pull off another rifle and go that way you would need the tube. Originally Posted By Tango: Im trying not to remove the sight block if possible but I see that is not the case. Found the old InrangeTV video on modifying the trigger packs to be semi auto https://archive.org/details/InRangeTVArchive/CETME+L+-+Build+Step+4+-+Semiauto+Conversion.mp4 might want to download it |

When Marcolmar first started shipping guns I jumped on a CETME L in black with a rail because it was in my budget at the time. But, what I really wanted was an LC so eventually I sold the L. Getting an LC never seemed in my reach especially since they only went up in price. When I saw these kits selling for $150 I instantly knew an LC was somehow in my future. Honestly, I tried to convince myself I was going to build a complete gun myself but I knew realistically I wasn’t going to put in the time in to complete the build and possibly troubleshoot any issues that arose. So, somewhere between blasphemy and the WECSOG I came up with a plan to get what I really wanted which was a 16” barrel gun but with an LC stock. Having the LC barrel wasn’t really that important to me. As a bonus, I believe the 16” barrel gun can install a bayonet. I found a NIB CETME L in grey with a rail for $1150 online a few weeks ago. When I picked it up at the LGS which has a range I put 50 rounds through it to be sure it functioned OK. In honor of the film Coyote vs. Acme premiering this weekend I figured it was time to get to work. It really wasn’t that hard a job to do, or it wouldn’t have been a hard job if I was better schooled in how roller locked guns disassemble and reassemble. Honestly, I have to watch a video almost every time I service roller locked guns. The reason I say this is because if anyone asks me to explain how I did this I’m not honestly sure I could explain in a reasonable manner. Trust me, this conversion will be easy enough if you are well schooled in roller locked guns. The hardest part is swapping the cocking handle support which for me was actually pretty simple. If you’re interested this is what needs to be swapped: To install a CETME LC collapsing stock onto a standard CETME L rifle, you cannot just swap the stock; you must also swap the bolt carrier, recoil spring assembly, and internal charging handle sled. This is because the standard CETME L houses its long recoil spring inside the hollow plastic buttstock, whereas the CETME LC collapsing stock requires a shortened recoil spring moved into the upper receiver above a modified bolt carrier. From this NIB CETME L: Attached File To this CETME LC tribute gun: Attached File Attached File Only negative is sliding the stock in and out is extremely stiff. I’m sure it will work in eventually. As a bonus I’ll probably keep the parts kit and maybe build a complete gun someday. |
