I get asked this a lot and I think allure is furthered by some manufacturers who claims it's possible. The easy answer is single shot vs a brand new plate, it ain't happening. It's going to take likely a very concentrated high amount of shots to degrade the ceramic enough to then allow the 5.7 rounds to degrade the backer :D

Can 5.7x28mm Defeat Ceramic Armor?
