I have about convinced myself I need to check out one of his knives, in addition support a member here instead of a large production company. I have various Moras, Esse 6, BK 7, and a Tops BOB. I really like all of them and use all of them frequently except the BK7. What would y'all ,that have some experience with some of his knifes recommend? My problem is I don't really have a specific use in mind. The Esse and Tops BOB see the most use. Maybe something to complement one of those? I like the look of the Kwaiken. It looks like it would be an all around good knife.

I just bought one of thesefor IWB carry since Texas finally changed the knife laws. I’ve only had it a week but it’s very nice and the sheath is great just be sure to buy the Ulticlip 3.3 for it. UPDATE:
Now that I’ve carried it for a couple months the coating on this is just for show and sucks for corrosion. I’ve cleaned so much rust off I’ve taken to spraying it with krylon paint to keep the rust off. Stripping and having it hard chromed is my next idea. Here it is next to my edc of 12 years. No BS warranty my ass. |

I guess that I would advise to look in your inbox.
If I know the maker, he has seen your post and has already reached out to you. He has his Woodsman, Saluda, and Kephart that may interest you, even his fighter bowie might be a consideration. He has a website that you can find under Flat Rock Forge. He is also eager to work with whatever you have in your mind as the perfect knife for you. Finnslayer and I both approached him with an idea, and now we have very sexy hard use knives that are exactly what we wanted. If you want recommendations I have two, just ordered two more, and have him working on an idea for a fifth one. And other ideas rattling around in my head. Plus one day I will have to get a couple that aren’t so pretty that I would feel bad using them. If that is even possible. |

Quoted: my question is: Why are you wringing your hands about it instead of placing an order? My next one will be like the one posted above, without the top blade guard. As is, this is the most beautiful knife I've ever seen, and couldn't think about anything else until I placed an order: https://i.imgur.com/KCTSYBF.jpg View Quote Oooh that one is nice! When I saw the Randall-inspired thread, I contacted Doubleplusgood and requested a longer blade. I posted a placeholder in that thread....it’s actually the next post after DPG replied to your question about the blade length ETA: Got my shipping and tracking info 4/18 and my new knife should be delivered 4/21 |

A well deserved congratulations Joe. Hardest working man in the knife business.
I am glad to see you getting the recognition, especially from your peers. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you concerning that other thing as well. As I have predicted, you should soon be overwhelmed with new followers and believers. Besides the one that we have in the works, I am working on deciding what my next acquisition will be before the rush. |
