Like the subject says, does anyone make a dedicated 40cal/10mm suppressor?  I can't find one.  I'm not interested in a 45cal suppressor because I don't have any 45ACP pistols.

You're not going to hear a difference. I don't even hear any real difference shooting 9mm thru my .45 can than I do my 9mm can

I don’t think I’ve seen a .40 specific can.

Its been a while, but I am 99% sure that SilencerCo made an Osprey in 40/10.

AAC used to make one ~15ish years ago, I'm pretty certain they discontinued it before they went bankrupt and Remington bought them.

My brother has one.

Just buy a 45 can with HUB mount, then buy appropriate mount to get you where need to be

IF you really wanted, buy a 9mm can, and have the bore through baffles opened to 0.430", I did that with old subgun can,  as the bore through baffles was too tight that 9mm randomly not fly straight, so had it open enough to pass .400" bullets, I cant tell any difference for sound

Yeah, they did.

We'll be doing a TLX in 10mm, an inch longer than the 9mm & .45 versions at 7.5" with 12 baffles.   I had hoped to have them done already, all the parts are machined for a small batch, but I've got all the lathes tied up with other things and I don't like interrupting production of something else to change jaws and tooling for a tiny run of finishing then have to put it all back.   They'll get welded up and finish machined along with more 9mm TLX soon, but I don't know that I'll get to it before Thanksgiving.

With 220 gr plated bullets loaded to 950 FPS, it sounds really good.

Back in the day, a bunch of us manufacturers used to make .40 S&W-specific suppressors, but that probably had more to do with marketing to the government clients that were hot on that caliber at the time. It made sense to offer a silencer that was marked the same caliber as the gun was.

The delta between .45 and .40 is about the thickness of a business card on either side... so not a huge difference in sound reduction or blowback based on the bore difference alone. But most customers back then weren't particularly imaginative, and just wanted to see there was something specifically tailored for their host weapons.

Once the .40S&W craze moved along to better 9mms, everyone just made and sold .45 cans that would work from .40S&W to .45acp, to .450 Bushmaster, etc.

I'll bet we sold well over 100:1 ratio .45acp to .40S&W. If it wasn't for US Border Patrol's USP-40s and UMP-40s that paid for the development of one, I probably would have never made one at all. I'm all about that one-size-fits-all economy.   :D

@ECCO_Machine On the subject of .40, could we get a run of aluminum Alpha direct thread adapters in 14.5x1 LH, for those crazy factory USP 40 barrels? I know it might take years to sell them out, but I'd really like to try my TLX 45 boosterless...

Picture of my Beretta 96 w/ old SWR .40SW can.  It originally came w/ a booster for a different gun and removed it.   Works great without a booster on this Beretta.

That's precisely why we haven't done them and likely won't.   Anything which moves fewer than a couple dozen per year is not worth creating a program and a SKU, tracking stock and occupying shelf space with.  This marks the 3rd 14.5x1 LH request I've had in 8 years of producing mounts & adapters.  I do not have a plug gauge or even a tap in that size.

The seller is asking $5,500 for it, but he keeps posting that he's open to reasonable offers.  I wonder if he accidentally double tapped on the 5 or if he's serious.

I saw an advertisement for an FN Rush 10 Ti, but haven't actually seen one for sale. Never mind , it was a 45/10 combo

I figured that was the case. RCM has aftermarket USP 40 barrels in the original Teutonic funky 14.5x1 LH, and the saner 9/16x24. The latter are/have been sold out, the former have had 23 in stock for the year or more I've been checking .

B&T is the only company I'm aware of that is still making them.
The .40 Osprey is no longer an option.

I'm sure the B&T is nice, but it's tri-lug.  I need threaded.  It appears that I'm out of luck, though I do appreciate everyone's help.

@ECCO_Machine
Is that also the case with your P-Series to HUB adapter?

No, we haven't dropped those.  But they're not a big mover, either, so low priority, which means they'll get run when I need to do other parts using the same set-ups and tooling, not going to interrupt production of other things to do a special run of a part that is low demand the minute it goes OOS.

@Bret I guess I should have specified which B&T you could get.

Check out the Impulse IIA. https://bt-usa.com/products/impuls-iia-40/
It's threaded 1/2x28.

BT-Parts.com lists a blem of one as in stock. They even have a coupon code for 10% off.

@Little_Bo_Peep, thanks for the links.  Unfortunately, the ones that bt-parts has are threaded M14.5x1LH.  According to the details on bt-usa.com, the default threading is 1/2x28 with M14.5x1LH being an option.  This probably explains why bt-parts still has them in stock.
