I have a Leupold 4.5-14 Long Range in Barrett rings on mine. One thing to consider is magnification. My range and shooting doesn't need high magnification and my 14 power is fine out to 600 yards. Too much makes finding targets harder at short ranges because of lack of depth of field.

I just put a Vortex Razor HD gen II 4.5-27-56 in Barrett rings on my 82a1. I've got 50 rounds with it and it's nice! It's FFP so the hold-overs are accurate at any power. I've only shot it at 100, 400, 550, and 600 yards, but I think it's perfect. I got mine new on the EE for a deep discounted price.
