Looking at getting a Stoeger coach gun and doing a Form 1 on it. Around how much would a gunsmith charge to cut the barrels and all that? Also, if there are any online places that do good work I'm open to suggestions

Rose Action Sports (Guncat on here) has done great work for many on this forum. I did it myself with a chop saw.

I just used a handsaw.
If I did it again I would have used a powered saw and made a cleaner cut.

I built it back in '93 and taking build pics never crossed my mind at the time - kind of wish I had in retrospect. A friend made the grip and fore-end from scratch, he's far better at stuff like that than I am. The host gun is an old Western Field I bought at a flea market back in the mid 1980s. It's a SBS so $200 tax to make. An AOW ($5 tax) would have to be built on a virgin receiver. |

It is-but that would mean they "built" it, and still doesn't address that you'd need a "never been a shotgun" receiver, not to mention the much longer wait for paperwork to clear. Looming for the right donor gun to chop to 8-12 inches myself. |
