I probably already know the answer but i figured I’d ask. I picked up a couple Turkish Mausers chambered in 8mm. From what I understand they are considered antiques even though they fire a modern centerfire smokeless round. Would converting them to .45acp with a barrel of less than 16” be legally considered an SBR?

I figured. Wasn’t sure if there may be some obscure exception.

There are SBRs, mainly antique lever-action Trappers w/ 14" & 15" bbls, that have been placed on the C&R exemption list, similar to the early 20th century stocked semi-auto handguns like the Browning HiPower.

Converting an existing antique converts it to a Title 2 firearm.
