Looking for a compact, low mount 3x optic for a 10/22 with a Hunter X-22 stock.  Currently running a bushnell TRS-25 dot, which was fine for porch plinking.  Need to eradicate some tree rats occasionally too, and my astigmatism is causing me to waste ammo with this dot.

Most of the 3x prisms I've had were heavy/bulky, and did not sit tight to the rail like the bushnell does.

Any suggestions?

Sits too high off the rail for my preference.

3x magnifier then since you don’t like the prism optic?

A great option. I'd pick a Leupold from this page and put it in some low Talley rings.

I have a few Weaver 2-7 rimfire scopes.  They’re great optics, light, and compact.

Another vote for a 2-7x variable.  Be sure to get the rimfire version which has 50 yard parallax setting rather than 100 yard centerfire, or you may have unexplained misses in close on small target if your eye is not centered in the eyepiece.

These are small, slim, lightweight 1" main tube scopes with simple easy to use reticles.  Leupold Freedom and Vortex Diamondback series rimfire scopes come to mind.  Mount them in low 1" rings.

Older used Weaver Classic and Burris 2-7x rimfire scopes are nice, too.

This. I’ve been rocking one for six months. Very nice little optic. I like it better then the 1x

I love my primary arms 1-6x acss 22lr.  It’s by far my favorite 22lr optic

Might not be popular, but how about the Monstrum 3x?

I just ordered a Leupold 58450 FX-II Ultralight Scope 2.5-20mm. It has a 1" diameter body and the specs say it weighs 6.5 oz. When it gets here I will mount it using aluminum rings to keep the weight down on my 10/22. I tried a Sig Romeo, but the red dots don't work for me.

I have tried the Bug Buster that a lot of people recommend, but that is 14 ozs, and it is a little clunky for my use.

Another vote for the Leupold 2-7×

I've got one set up on my 10/22 Takedown and another on my FVSR.

They're pretty much perfect.

The Vortex Spitfire comes with a lower mount for use on non-AR's.

Bought one on a whim for an el cheapo 22mag I have. I realize exactly what it is for a hundred bucks. But, it does what I want at 1/3rd the price of any other 3x prism. Liked it enough to buy a 2nd one for a 20" PSA CHF rifle build.
