And

B.  Faced north.

Starting out at station #1 with the high house bird…UGGHHhhh….it seems like you’re staring at the sun waiting for the bird to come out.  

This particular range faces due south.

If the field is oriented right then you SHOULD be looking into the sun early in the morning (8-9 AM) on station 1 high.
